RUNE is a painter, writer and photographer based in Joshua Tree, California. She has a few published books, and her videos and artwork have been in local galleries, stores and events. Rune strives to create beauty that enchants and transports the viewer to another dreamy realm. She is certified in several healing arts and infuses her work with love, intention, prayer and healing energy. Rune is very adventurous and loves exploring the world, as well as exploring many techniques and media. Some favorites have been encaustic, ink, woodburning, photography, video, gouache and watercolor, and she is developing online courses for these. The name Malachite comes from the Greek word "malache" meaning mallow because the stone is the same color as mallow leaves. Ancient Egyptians used Malachite to make jewelry and carving ornaments. Egyptian hieroglyphs described malachite as an important part of their deities’ existence. They mined the stone in an area between Mt Sinai and the Suez as early as 4000 BC.
